The Integrated Media Studies classes are mandatory, trimester, non-elective courses, grades 9-11 that are integrated into the cultural history curriculum. In all the Media Studies courses, students learn to deconstruct and construct media via collaborative and individual projects and activities, production, discussion, and written reflection. This is a double-period class.
The poem and the photogram go extremely well together. The transparent, winding pipes and tubes going around the paintbrush can show the said twists and turns of life. The paintbrush, quite literally, represents the metaphor she used about painting our story. Good job Kate.
I like how you can see the bristles of the paintbrush at the end of the brush, but not throughout the entire image. It shows off a nice detail and still leaves a sense of ambiguity. I also like the symmetry between the paintbrush and the rings, I think they match up well together, as does your entire image and your writing.
