What is Media Studies?

The Integrated Media Studies classes are mandatory, trimester, non-elective courses, grades 9-11 that are integrated into the cultural history curriculum. In all the Media Studies courses, students learn to deconstruct and construct media via collaborative and individual projects and activities, production, discussion, and written reflection. This is a double-period class.

Photogram HW

Poem:

Life is scary and everything can vary.

Bats and spiders are everywhere,

But its good that we have candles,

as well as a symbol to guide us in the right direction.

Reflection Based on Quote:

“Artists were at one point amateurs.”

The acorn in the center surrounded by a ring represents

ones own potential that is stunted by boundaries. The battery

on the bottom of the photogram represents the ultimate achievement

somebody wants to gain. All of this reflects the quote because

it shows that everything or everyone starts out small and needs to

work their way up to achieve their goal, or make the transition from

amateur to artist/ profesional.
