Collage

The bottom of my collage represents my belief that we need to get away from the lives we are living today. This is a world where people are moving too fast and are surrounded by too much technology, seen in the computer being smashed. People today become so upset with their condition of living and the way their governments run that they feel the need to revolt, which is seen in the image of the famers’ gathering in Atlanta. I think we need to get away from this by taking a journey through life and enjoying that journey, which is represented by the sailboat and the station wagon. This journey will take us to explore new worlds and ideas and gain a more open perspective on the world, which is seen in the image of the scuba diver. The picture of the ram represents my astrological sign, Aries. The piano represents my belief that all humans need an outlet for the creative ideas and processes. The quote “arranging something unforgettable: priceless” represents my though that one should enjoy his outlet, whatever that may be, and try to do something great with it, even if that thing only holds meaning for oneself. It may not matter to others, but if one can do something that he will remember, I believe he has succeeded. The image of the snowy mountains represents my belief that in our culture, there is not enough focus on the simple beauty of nature. I believe we need to go back to the natural world and enjoy its beauty as much as possible.

Your self portrait Design/Composition Create a final black and white image that demonstrates an understanding of the aesthetics of Photography including editing.	Several of the elements in the photo used in the reflect an exceptional degree of student creativity in their creation. Uses of compositional rules are evident and appropriate to the theme. Objects are placed for best effect. Overall, it just feels right. .	One or two of the graphics or objects used reflect student creativity in their creation and/or display. Graphics are trimmed to an appropriate size and interesting shape and are arranged with some items in front and others behind. The canvas, however does not appear balanced. Uses of compositional rules are good and the composition is relatively balanced, but negative space could be utilized better to create a more cohesive feel.	One or two graphics or objects were made or customized by the student, but the ideas were typical rather than creative (.e.g, apply the emboss filter to a drawing in Photoshop). Graphics have been trimmed to an appropriate size and shape, but the arrangement of items is not very attractive. It appears there was not a lot of planning of the item placementThe portrait seems to have a little too much background or seems a little too busy. Balance has not been achieved. Time and Effort	Class time was used wisely. Much time and effort went into the planning and creation of the portrait. It is clear the students worked at home as well as at school.
